I have bought two of the PiccoZ-cloned. They costs only around HKD100 each. That's considered cheap. Did I feel guilty? A little bit... but they are just so cheap that I find it hard to resist the temptation.
Talking about the quality, they are comparable to the original one. In terms of feature, one of them is actually better than the original with the following changes,
- the spring has been removed from the throttle control
- the controller is off by default (even after you switch it on) until you set the throttle to full speed followed by reseting it to the lowest position
- a more powerful battery and motor has been used
- First, make sure you know how to control hover and land it using the throttle;
- Then, use the trim buttons to make it stable instead of rotating to the left or right;
- Learn to fly in circles in clockwise movement (easier than counter-clockwise);
- Learn to fly in clrcles in counter-clockwise movement. Note that it will decelerate when you turn left. You may need to give it more throttle for the helicopter to float in the air.
Below some of the photos of one of the disassemblied helicopter.
Update on May-02: Finally, I bought my third PiccoZ, the real one this time, at Toy's'rus. It's more stable than the faked ones but also costs more. I bought it at $240
